WordPress Blogging Strategy - 7 Tips For Building Your Tribe With WordPress

1. Commenting Strategy
Your commenting strategy is more than waiting for people to make comments on your blog. It is an active process you undertake to get yourself known by commenting on other blogs, writing posts about other blogs' posts, as well as encouraging comments on your own blog.

2. Encourage Community Participation
Encouraging community participation encompasses the many activities of commenting, leveraging the power of social networking, social bookmarking, and e-mails done with care.

3. Provide Excellent Content
If you don't provide GREAT and USEFUL content, your tribe won't even begin to form. You must educate as well as entertain your readers to get them to come back and join your tribe. Then you must continue to provide excellent content to keep them coming back.

4. Social Networking Sites
Social Networking Sites are great for tribe building. Answering questions on twitter, inviting your followers to visit your site and/or attend your free teleseminar, and letting people know who you are will take you far in upping your 'know, like, and trust' factor.

5. Social Bookmarking Sites
The most important thing to do regarding Social Bookmarking Sites is to complete your profile. Put your picture up there, answer all the questions, and don't forget the url of your WordPress blog! When people 'bookmark' your blog post on one of the Social Bookmarking Sites, you want people to be able to discover exactly who you are.

6. Blog About Your Stuff
When you have 'stuff' to see, blog about it. Don't do a hard sell on your blog. Tell people about your product and what it will do for them. Your call to action can be to send them to your sales page, but don't sell it on your blog. Explain it!

7. E-Mail Your Tribe for Participation
Use e-mail with care. You can send as many 140 character tweets as you want but people will unsubscribe in a heartbeat if you hit them over the head with too many 'salesy' e-mails. It's much better to e-mail to your tribe about your blog post. Invite them to read and comment on it. A much softer sell approach than the e-mails that say buy this or you won't be able to afford food!
